This decade saw women remaining pleasingly feminine while men dressed with masculinity. Spectator pumps, pompadours, and skirts just below the knee were in style for women. If they were not in uniform, men wore topcoats and fedoras. People looked their best and dressed out of respect for themselves and each other.
